A Speed Based Safety Ratings System will promote the most competitive spirit since the muscle car.
Instead of the fasted speed down the race track, production vehicles will compete for the fastest performance speed on a safety test track for collision avoidance technologies and the fastest crash test speed for collision protection technologies.
In the past it was easy to compare who had the most powerful car by how much faster it could go than the competition and today and throughout the future, performance at higher and higher speeds is still the best way to compete for who has the safest production vehicle.
